July and August Events & Festivals
July
- Stop by the Farmers Market at Bridgeport for locally-grown, locally-made products with a diverse range of vendors including crafters, artisans, local farmers, ranchers and more. The Farmers Market at Bridgeport will take place every second and fourth Sunday through August 24 from 10 a.m. 2 p.m.
- The Farmers Market Bennett’s Creek Pasture Road returns for the year beginning every Thursday from 3-6 p.m. through October 30.
- Bring the family for a day of food & drinks, bounce houses, games and fireworks during the annual Stars & Stripes Spectacular on July 4. Music beings at 6 p.m. with fireworks starting at 9 p.m. This event will take place at Constant’s Wharf Park & Marina. Or, check out Crittenden/Eclipse/Hobson 4th of July celebration including kid’s crafts, food, fun, games, fireworks and parade.
- Suffolk Sweets Week returns July 5-12. Suffolk Sweets Week highlights our best local culinary temptations. No coupons, vouchers or tickets are needed – simply order from the Suffolk Sweets Week menu at participating eateries.
- Kick back and listen to live tunes during TGIF Summer Concert Series featuring Anthony Rosano & The Conqueroos on July 11 at Downtown Festival Park. The fun kicks off at 6 p.m. All concerts are free and open to the public.
- July 25 from 6-9:30 p.m. TGIF Summer Concert Series – The Deloreans at Bennett’s Creek Park
- Check out the festive event, Christmas in July at New Realm Brewing Co. – Suffolk on July 12 from 12-4 p.m. Discover various unique craft and creations from local artisans while enjoying food, holiday decorations and more.
- Take in the scenic views and while listening to live tunes from Celeste Kellogg at Decoys Seafood on July 14 from 6-9 p.m.
- Stop by Miss Lilly’s Trading Post for their Outdoor Open Market. Find unique artisans, gifts, crafts and more from various vendors on July 28 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
- Pickle lovers will want to check out Suffolk Farmers’ Market inaugural event, Suffolk Pickle Palooza on July 20 from 12-4 p.m. at the Suffolk Visitor Center Pavilion.
- Head over to Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts for their Summer Film Series at the Center featuring Beetlejuice Beetlejuice on July 20 at 2 p.m. Admission is free. Rated PG-13. Come a little early to meet your favorite movie characters!
- It’s the return of the popular American Girl Program, featuring Melody Ellison, on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Riddick’s Folly House Museum! This event also includes a dolly giveaway to one of the girls who attends. There will be 2 sittings: 10am and 11:30am. Space is limited (20 girls per sitting) and reservations are required. Donations welcome. Ages 6-12 are welcome; all children must be accompanied by an adult. Call 757-934-0822 for reservations.
- Bring the family to Bennett’s Creek Park for a movie night under the stars featuring Saturday Cinema – Despicable Me 4 (PG). The fun beings at 6:15 p.m., movie starts at 8:15 p.m.
August
- TGIF Summer Concert Series continues at Bennett’s Creek Park featuring:
- The Band Monarch – August 1
- 2nd Wynd Band – August 8
- Midnight Rain – August 15
- Check out Decoys Seafood’s Crush Fest on August 2 from 2-5 p.m. Visit Decoys Seafood’s website for more information.
- Put on your best Regency-era attire and head to Nansemond Brewing Company’s Bridgerton Murder Mystery Brunch on August 10 from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Be sure to reserve your spot ahead of time!
- The Summer Film Series at the Center featuring the movie “The Color Purple” returns on August 15 at the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts. This movie begins at 8 p.m. and is rated PG-13. General admission is free.
- Don’t miss the 37th Annual Nansemond Indian Pow Wow on August 16 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and on August 17 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Enjoy free parking and admission, Native American dancing, singing, art and crafts, food and more.
- Bring the family to Saturday Cinema at Downtown Festival Park on August 23 featuring “Inside Out 2.” The fun begins at 5:45 p.m. and the movie starts at 7:45 p.m.
- The Suffolk Art League’s Melissa Darden Odom Speaker Series presents Kimberly McKinnis on August 23 beginning at 6:30 p.m.
- Make plans to attend The Organic Roots Yoga Festival August 29-31. Celebrate all things yoga, music, nature, community and conscious living with workshops, soulful performances and local vendors. This three day event takes place at Organic Roots at 4921 Milners Road.
- Shrimp Fest returns to Decoys Seafood August 30 from 1-5 p.m. Check out Decoys Seafood website for more details.
