Exhibit of Excellence: Suffolk Student Art 2019

This juried exhibition features the best artwork by Suffolk's 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. Barbara Hennig-Loomis will be this year's juror. Hennig-Loomis’ education in the arts is varied, and continuing. She holds a degree in Art History from Virginia Commonwealth University and continued her art history graduate studies as a Fulbright Fellow in Germany. She also completed a Master of Fine Art in Visual Studies. She has worked as a writer, editor, a museum administrator, teacher and illustrator. In addition to her studio work, Hennig-Loomis currently teaches at Tidewater Community College. There is $625 in awards offered, including $200 Best in Show (given in honor of Dana Adams), $150 First Place, $100 Second Place and $75 Third Place and Honorable Mentions. The exhibit is sponsored in part by a grant from the Suffolk Fine Arts Commission.
The Opening Reception and Awards Presentation will be February 5, from 11:30am-12:30pm.
The Gallery is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-5pm and Sunday, 1-5pm.
