  1. Suffolk Art League's Annual Juried Exhibition

    This Juried Exhibition is open to all visual artists working in any medium. The exhibition typically features approximately 100 works of art by artists from the Hampton Roads region and beyond. Over $2,400 in awards will be given, including a $500 First Prize and the opportunity for a one-person exhibit at the Suffolk Art Gallery in 2019. The juror will be Dr. Cole Welter, Graduate Program Director, Professor of Art, Painting and Drawing, at James Madison University.

  2. Suffolk Restaurant Week: A Culinary Encore

    As Suffolk's premier culinary celebration, Suffolk Restaurant Week was launched by Suffolk Tourism to showcase the array of exceptional dishes prepared by the best chefs in Suffolk. This popular culinary tradition is held twice annually—the spring showcase in March and the fall encore in November, featuring the best restaurants citywide and offering fixed-price, three-course meals. There are no passes to buy, coupons to carry or cards to punch. Food lovers may simply dine at as many participating restaurants as they like during Suffolk Restaurant Week, explore new dining opportunities or enjoy old favorites.

  3. Historic Suffolk Narrated Bus Tour

Suffolk’s rich heritage dates back to the early 17th century, when Captain John Smith first encountered the Nansemond Indians on the Nansemond River. Even now, you can trace Suffolk’s legacy through our historic homes and neighborhoods, churches and Virginia Civil War Trails. Guided by a Suffolk historian, you meet the people and places that made Suffolk the city it is today. Highlights of this windshield tour include Cedar Hill Cemetery, Riddick’s Folly House Museum, Constant’s Wharf, College Court and Suffolk’s Historic Lakeside neighborhood.
