With warm weather just around the corner, Suffolk Tourism is offering a Kayak Excursion of the Great Dismal Swamp's Lake Drummond on Saturday, March 31, 2018. The Kayak Excursion departs at 9:15am from the Suffolk Visitor Center. While paddling past bald cypress trees, participants will learn about the wildlife and plant life that thrive in this fascinating habitat during a two hour tour. Participants are encouraged to bring a snack and bottled water; also to wear sunscreen, a hat and insect repellent. The fee per person is $35 and includes all equipment and transportation to Lake Drummond. Children 10 years and older are welcome with a parent or guardian. Space is limited. Advance reservations and payment are required and can be made by contacting the Suffolk Visitor Center at 757.514.4130.
