    Join the Suffolk-Nansemond Historical Society as they present "Off to War," featuring memorabilia and honors from various wars throughout history, including the American Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the American Civil War, the Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, and the Vietnam War. We must never forget the sacrifices that were made, and this exhibit honors those sacrifices and the people who made them. You do not want to miss this extensive exhibit!

  2. Exhibit of Excellence: Suffolk Student Art 2019

    This juried exhibition features the best artwork by Suffolk's 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. Barbara Hennig-Loomis will be this year's juror. Hennig-Loomis’ education in the arts is varied, and continuing. She holds a degree in Art History from Virginia Commonwealth University and continued her art history graduate studies as a Fulbright Fellow in Germany. She also completed a Master of Fine Art in Visual Studies. She has worked as a writer, editor, a museum administrator, teacher and illustrator. In addition to her studio work, Hennig-Loomis currently teaches at Tidewater Community College. There is $625 in awards offered, including $200 Best in Show (given in honor of Dana Adams), $150 First Place, $100 Second Place and $75 Third Place and Honorable Mentions. The exhibit is sponsored in part by a grant from the Suffolk Fine Arts Commission.

  4. Duck Decoy Carving Class

    The duck decoy carving class at the Suffolk Art Gallery is an educational, fun way to begin carving, sharpen your skills, or just enjoy a day carving with like-minded people. Instructor Ed Morrison has been carving for many years and teaching carving for over 20 years. Ed has an easy carving process that ensures everyone can complete a handsome duck decoy ready to display. Registration includes any materials needed for the class and students will have the opportunity to pick which decoy they would like to complete.

  6. Historic Suffolk Narrated Bus Tour

Guided by a Suffolk historian, you meet the people and places that made Suffolk the city it is today. Highlights of this windshield tour include Cedar Hill Cemetery, Riddick’s Folly House Museum, Constant’s Wharf, College Court and Suffolk’s Historic Lakeside neighborhood.

  7. Tony Deyo Comedy Show with Quincy Carr

    Join in the fun when Hub 757 hosts comedian Tony Deyo on Saturday, February 16, 2019, beginning at 7:30pm. Known most notably for his sharp, quick material and near-perfect comedic timing almost certainly gained from his years as a professional symphony musician, New York City's Village Voice calls Tony Deyo "one of the tightest joke writers in the business." He will be joined by opener Quincy Carr, a local favorite, who helped form the 'Clean & Quality Comedy Tour' and since 2010, presents Virginia's only all clean adult live comedy show.
