Suffolk Art Gallery: “Marisa Stratton: Context Collapse”
The Suffolk Art Gallery presents “Marisa Stratton: Context Collapse,” opening Saturday, August 2, from 4 to 6 PM at a free reception. Join us for the first look at the show, meet the artist, and enjoy complimentary food and beverages.
About the exhibition:
The Suffolk Art Gallery presents an in-person ‘feed’ of painted portraits by Marisa Stratton for your consumption and delight. Stratton invites us to spend time examining each of the subjects she has captured from her social media channels with care. No longer moments to be devoured, Stratton slows our experience of images on TikTok, Instagram, FaceTime, and Zoom, encouraging us to engage deeper with the people we look at and to consider our relationship to them as viewers.
